Did your commute take an extra 10–15 minutes today?
Just as we get lulled into the relatively easy-going morning commute of the summer months, schools open and traffic starts getting back to “normal” – whatever that is.
It’s not just the school buses that impact traffic, but also the fact that just about anyone with a family is back from vacation and headed to work via Route 50 or I-97.
I’m guessing that most parents have already checked out the bus schedule, school calendar, and Parent Info book, but here are the links for your convenience. This is just the beginning… there is a wealth of other information on the Anne Arundel County Public School website.
School hours vary for Crofton’s elementary and middle schools:
- Crofton Elementary – 9:15 a.m. to 3:40 p.m.
- Crofton Meadows Elementary – 8:20 a.m. – 2:45 p.m.
- Crofton Middle School – 8:10 a.m. – 2:50 p.m.
- Crofton Woods Elementary – 8:45 a.m. – 3:10 p.m.
- Nantucket Elementary – 8:50 a.m. – 3:15 p.m.
If your wondering about school lunches, you’ll find answers to all your questions online. Here is this week’s lunch menu for elementary schools, and you will find it posted each week. The middle/high school lunch menu is quite elaborate, with more options than most local restaurants. The mere thought of it will probably inspire some chuckles for most parents as they eat a PB and J, sitting at their desk in the office.
