Neighbors of the championship golf course at Crofton Country Club have been asking, “What’s going on?” for the past month, as they’ve watched busy workers replace golfers on the fairways. The answer: a comprehensive renovation of the golf course and conversion to Zeon Zoysia turf.
The golf course re-opened for limited play very quickly, but Wednesday marked the grand re-opening for full play by Crofton Country Club members, with slightly modified rules that were distributed to golfers. Reciprocal arrangements with other clubs remain in effect through the end of June, however, if members prefer to wait until the new growth is a little farther along.
Ryan Doer, Crofton Country General Manager, indicates that work will continue on the course throughout the summer and playing conditions are expected to improve each week.
