Crofton School Construction Update
Parents, kids, staff, and even the neighbors of several Crofton area schools will be glad when construction is finished for several ongoing school construction projects in the greater Crofton area. A summary of the projects and expected completion dates follows:
Crofton Elementary is undergoing a significant “revitalization” that will increase capacity from 512 students to 658. Additionally, you’ve probably noticed the newly paved area for a school bus drop-off and pick-up area. Construction began last Spring and is expected to be complete in time for the 2015-2016 school year.
Crofton Meadows Elementary is getting a kindergarten addition, which is expected to be complete in the Spring of 2014.
Nantucket Elementary will also get a kindergarten addition, with construction beginning next summer (2014) for completion by the end of the year.
Crofton High School is simply not on the horizon, but many parents are lobbying hard. If you have children in elementary school now, this will become a reality for your family only if you get involved. Odenton residents are also seeing some school construction now and in the immediate future. Updates for these and other projects can be found on the Anne Arundel County Public School website.
