Santa Claus is Coming To Town Tonight!
November 28th, 2011 Categories: Events

Look for Santa to arrive at Crofton Country Club tonight, November 28, riding atop a firetruck. After Santa lights the Christmas Tree, everyone is invited to join him into the clubhouse for a community Christmas party. There will be refreshments, music and a chance for kids to sit on Santa’s lap to tell him personally what they want for Christmas.
This holiday celebration has been an annual tradition in Crofton for as long as I can remember. We participated with our own children and, in recent years, we have taken our grandchildren to the celebration. The weather today is much warmer than usual for this event, and I’m looking forward to NOT freezing tonight!
Festivities begin at 6:30 p.m., and Santa is expected at 7:00. Be sure to bring your camera!

Crofton Craft Fair is Saturday, September 24
September 21st, 2011 Categories: Events
The Crofton Craft Fair is a long-standing tradition in this community, and many people look forward to it on the last Saturday of September and April each year.
The Greater Crofton Chamber of Commerce will sponsor this event for the first time, on Saturday, and their enthusiasm for this project is showing. If the weather gods smile on that day, it should be more fun than ever.
The craft fair will be held at Crofton Country Club parking lot from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. In addition to craft vendors, several community organizations will be represented including the Crofton Regional Community Center (CRCC).
The CRCC will be located at the north end of the parking lot, and volunteers will be selling raffle tickets for 3 e–readers to be awarded at the Book Lovers Auction on November 12. I’m betting they’ll also have tickets for that event and information brochures about the new community center.
If you happen to notice the aroma of chicken cooking, it’s not your imagination. It will will be boy scouts, across the street at the Village Green parking lot. Hurry on over there and order a half chicken, before it’s gone!

These photos were taken at a previous craft fair.

- Culminating this years summer concert series will be the U.S. Army Field Band on August 27. Every performing component of the band – The Volunteers, Jazz Amb assadors, Concert Band and Soldiers’ Chorus – will perform, including band alum from across the United States. We’re so fortunate to have these bands based at Fort Meade. Take advantage of the opportunity to hear them perform.

Crofton supports our neighbor, Emma Warner
June 9th, 2011 Categories: Communities, Events
Emma Warner grew up in Crofton, and her parents probably expected to throw a college graduation party for her in 2011. Instead, they’ll be attending a benefit for her at Blue Dolphin on June 16, from 4-7 p.m.
This event is our way of showing support to the Warner family as they face the daily challenges of rebuilding her body and brain, following a massive stroke that occurred when she was in recovery after surgery earlier this year.
If you’re unfamiliar with Emma’s story, you can click on Baby Bears Buddies Benefit and read the second page of the flier. The first page has all the details for next week’s benefit at the Blue Dolphin.
