Crofton Resident Discovers Love in the Strangest Place

Holding hands

The longer I live in this community and sell Crofton real estate, the more I realize it’s the people who make this such a special place – not the houses.

I’m reminded of this often, and one occasion each month is the Crofton Village Garden Club meeting, where neighbors of 30+ years and newcomers alike gather to learn, share and socialize.  At the March meeting, founding member Bernie Robertson told us about an article on the front page of the Baltimore Sun last month featuring former Crofton resident and longtime garden club member, Jeanne Hamilton.

In case you missed it, let me provide a link to First love, lasting love.  The story and photo are guaranteed to make you smile, even if you don’t know Jeanne or her family.  (Sorry, I couldn’t reproduce them here because of the copyright.)

The Hamilton kids grew up on Ellsworth Avenue and attended Crofton schools – they’re probably in their 30’s and 40’s today – and their dad was the broker-owner of Pyramid Realty in Anne Arundel County.  The Baltimore Sun story reports how their widowed mom, now 84–years young, found love again with a good-looking 99–year old boy on an elevator at Sunrise Senior Living in Pikesville.

This tale will probably provide a healthy dose of hope to other singles of any age, as Spring comes over the horizon.  It is, after all, the season of love in the air – in Crofton, Maryland, and around the globe!   Based on this story, is still no substitute for real life chemistry and a flirtatious wink or smile between two strangers.

Jeanne, I just have one thing to say about all this – Enjoy!
