A Crofton Maryland Vacation

If you don't have a boat, rent one to enjoy the many miles of Anne Arundel County waterfrontCrofton residents might want to think about a “staycation” this year instead of a vacation.  Who says you need to buy expensive airline tickets or take a long drive to another destination, just because you took a week off from work – and why pay for a hotel?

For day-trip ideas, click through to this blog I wrote for families relocating to the area – Family is In the Car, and We Are Ready to Go!

Or, for places closer to home you may not have taken the time to visit yet, read Around the Maryland Beltway.

And you might get some ideas about things to do in D.C. or Baltimore from A “Tale of Two Cites” Near Anne Arundel County, Maryland.

Closer to home… how about trying some restaurants you don’t usually frequent.  If your typical dining-out fare is Applebee’s, Damon’s and Ledo’s, why not visit Kauffman’s in Gambrills (try their All-You-Can-Eat Sunday crab feast), or Rips in Bowie (world’s best Reuben sandwiches).  If you usually play golf at Walden or Crofton Country Club, check out Renditions in Davidsonville or another nearby golf course that you haven’t played yet.

Have you ever taken the time to visit the Public Gardens Outside the Naval Academy Gates or Historic Homes Outside the Naval Academy Gates in Annapolis?

Why wait for out of town guests to take in these sites?  But remember you’re on vacation – so no yard work, no house-cleaning, no cooking…
