Crofton Holiday House Tour Next Week

Homeowners are busily preparing for the Crofton Holiday House Tour next weekend, on Saturday December 13, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.  Meanwhile, garden club members hold daily workshops to craft live floral decorations for the homes and create homemade tree ornaments for Linthicum Walks.  If your holiday spirit could use a little boost, this House Tour is certainly the place to find it, without risking your pocketbook to temptations of the mall.

In recent posts, I’ve given you some background on Linthicum Walks and told you about some of the homes on the tour.  Following is a brief description of three more homes on the tour:

1569 Eton Way –Tom and Mary Desiderio

The stately portico of the entrance for this home sets it apart, along with ten skylights and an abundance of glass block walls.  The upstairs is very open, with a large island connecting the kitchen, living room and dining room.  The expanded master suite features a grand shower with heated limestone and travertine flooring.  The lower level has been renovated to include built-ins in the family room and an office for Mary’s design business.

1727 Tipton Drive – Eleanor Saulino

The interior of this cozy rancher has been updated recently to include a new kitchen with ceramic tile flooring, glazed maple cabinets and stainless steel appliances.  A beautiful stone fireplace warms the adjoining family room and a screened-in porch off the dining area overlooks a wooded back yard.  Comfort, function and a friendly atmosphere are evident throughout this Levitt-built home.

7515 Crofton Colony Drive – Donna Krissillas

This professional designer’s home in Crofton’s Active Adult community of Crofton Colon is beautifully furnished with unique wall coverings and window treatments.  The surprisingly spacious interior offers room after room of holiday decorations, and each room captures a piece of the holiday spirit with its own central theme.  A family room, dance room complete with mirrors, and an office for Donna’s interior design business are located downstairs.

You can begin your tour at any time between 11:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., at any home on the tour.  Remember to wear comfortable walking shoes (no high heels which can damage hardwood floors) because parking is limited at Linthicum Walks (handicap permits only) and you may have to park at Crofton Middle School and walk to Linthicum Walks.  It is well worth the effort to see Crofton’s historical gem, decorated for the holidays by Crofton Village Garden Club members.

Tickets are limited, but there are a few remaining for advance purchase at $12.  Contact Sally Moore, 301–261–6818, or email her at [email protected].  Tickets will be $15 at the door.

REMINDER:  If you ordered poinsettias from the Crofton Village Garden Club, pick-up is today between 1–4 p.m. at the RE/MAX Vision office on the Crofton Village Green.  If you forgot to order in time, a final order will be placed today at 4 p.m.  Contact me at 301–346–2923 before then to order your Behnke’s Signature Poinsettia. Small $10, Medium $15, and Large $21.
