A Crofton Real Estate Success Story

Some Crofton home sellers just get lucky.  Others get the “right” real estate agent.  Yes, that sound you hear is me patting myself on the back for the success story enjoyed by one of my clients, the buyers of her home, and the real estate agents involved in this sale which closed a few days ago.

1717 Tedbury Street, Crofton, MDCindy Quinn’s home on Tedbury Street did not sell when she put it on the market last summer, although she did have two offers that she declined.  Her move was discretionary – not dictated by relocation or a life-altering event – and she had the option to say “no” when she wasn’t satisfied with the terms.  In fact, she took her home off the market in Fall.

Fast forward to February, when I met her for breakfast at Atlanta Bread Company in the Village at Waugh Chapel.  The last thing she expected was my request to show her home to a prospective buyer the next day.

To make a long story short, she said “yes” and ended up with a non-contingent full-price offer on her home.  Yes, even in this market… The home inspection went smoothly, the appraisal was fine, the settlement went like clockwork, and Cindy can brag that her home “sold in a day.”

It was no fluke, however.  Cindy had followed every suggestion I made last summer as to pricing, terms, marketing, access, and condition.  That’s probably why 55 agents showed her home in a market when some Crofton home sellers had no showings at all.  One of those agents remembered her home and contacted me when he had a buyer months later.  The rest, as they say, is history.  This agent might never have shown her home and known it was a good match for his clients if Cindy had not done everything “right” last summer.

Thank you, Cindy, for being such a pleasure to work when you bought your home in 1992 and when you sold it last month.   And many thanks to Danny DeAngelo of Weichert Realty who represented the buyers.  They’re a young couple with a baby who wanted to live in Crofton for the same reasons Larry and I did when we moved here over 35 years ago with our two boys.

Congratulations to everyone involved for a really flawless real estate transaction.  I just love Crofton real estate success stories!
