Nautilus Diner Hosts Next CRCC Meeting

If you haven’t visited The Nautilus Diner yet, why not put it on your calendar for Wednesday, July 14.  That’s when the next meeting for Crofton Regional Community Center (CRCC) is scheduled, and The Nautilus Diner is hosting it at 6:30 p.m.

Breakfast at Nautilus DinerNautilus is located on Route 3 at the intersection with Rt. 424.  It’s open round-the-clock on Fridays and Saturdays, and 6 a.m.–  1 a.m. Sunday thru Thursday.  My personal favorite is breakfast – there’s just something about that diner environment and pancakes that seem to go together –  and breakfast is served any time.  Of course, they also have extensive lunch and dinner menus. (Click on the breakfast photo to view their menu online.)

On Wednesday evening, you can “kill two birds with one stone” (as the saying goes)…  Have dinner at The Nautilus Diner and learn why everyone is so excited about the Crofton Regional Community Center.  Join local community leaders including former Maryland State Senator Janet Greenip, former GCC President Art Huseonica and CCA President Steve Grimaud in making this decades-long dream of a community center into reality.

The center will be centrally located on a four-acre site located between the Crofton Library and the Crofton Convalescent Center on Reidel Road.  The 32,000 sq. ft. facility will serve everyone from teens to seniors in the greater Crofton area, so chances are YOU and your family will benefit from these efforts.  There’s just one thing… it’s up to the community to raise seven million dollars for the construction.

Recent community fundraisers for the CRCC included CRCC Night at the Bowie Baysox, a cut-a-thon sponsored by The Hair Experience,  and a daylong skateboard demonstration sponsored by The Family Bikeshop and Owens Ski and Sport

Here are a few more events that will take place in the coming weeks:

Rita's Ice

Wednesday, July 28, 4:30-6:30 p.m. –  CRCC fundraiser at Crofton Rita’s Ice.  Rita’s will donate 20% of sales at their “fundraiser window” to the CRCC.

Saturday, July 31, 7-11:00 p.m. – CRCC Bull Roast fundraiser at The Elks on Defense Highway in Gambrills/Crofton.  Tickets are available from any CRCC member or you can simply submit your request to Focus On Crofton by clicking on the link.

Tuesday, August 3, 5-9:00 p.m. – CRCC is collaborating with the County Executive’s office and the National Night Out program to provide exciting family events and displays at the Crofton Library parking lot and other locations around Crofton.
